Ceramic, PTFE and hybrid frying pans for eggs, pancakes, family meals, induction hobs and easier clean-up.

A good non-stick frying pan should make the everyday jobs easier: eggs that slide out cleanly, pancakes that flip without tearing, bacon that browns evenly and a surface that does not need soaking after dinner. The tricky part is choosing between ceramic, PTFE and hybrid surfaces, because each one asks for a slightly different balance of release, durability, heat tolerance and care.
Our picks include compact pans for breakfasts, larger pans for families, ceramic options for buyers avoiding PTFE, tougher hybrid and scratch-resistant designs, and budget choices for anyone who simply needs a reliable extra pan.

Buying advice
How to choose a non-stick frying pan
Use these checks to decide which features matter before comparing individual products.
Choose the coating by how you cook
PTFE is usually the slickest for eggs and pancakes, ceramic appeals to buyers who want a PFAS-free surface, and hybrid pans trade some slipperiness for better durability and searing.
Match the size to your normal portions
A 20cm pan is useful for one or two eggs, 24cm to 26cm suits everyday cooking, and 28cm to 30cm gives more room for family meals, bacon, pancakes and stir-fries.
Check induction compatibility before looks
Many modern non-stick pans work on induction, but not all aluminium pans do. If you have an induction hob, look for explicit compatibility rather than assuming the base will work.
Use the right heat
Most non-stick pans work best at low to medium heat and do not need a long empty preheat. Follow the pan's care instructions, use a small amount of suitable oil when needed and avoid overheating the coating.
Treat dishwasher-safe as convenient, not essential
Dishwasher-safe pans are useful, but hand washing is often better for preserving a non-stick surface. If you want the coating to last, avoid abrasive pads and let the pan cool before washing.
Look at oven limits if you finish dishes under heat
Oven-safe temperatures vary widely, and lids or handles may have lower limits than the pan body. Check this if you cook frittatas, finish meat in the oven or want hob-to-oven flexibility.
Think about weight and handle shape
A heavier pan can feel stable and hold heat well, but it is harder to lift when full. Helper handles, comfortable grips and balanced weight matter more on 28cm and 30cm pans.

Our Place Always Pan 2.0
27cm ceramic 10-in-1 pan
The Our Place Always Pan 2.0 is the most rounded pick because it does more than a normal frying pan without feeling like a novelty. The deep sides, helper handle, lid and included steamer basket make it useful for eggs, pancakes, stir-fries, curries and one-pan suppers, while the ceramic non-stick surface keeps everyday cooking low-fuss.
It is not the cheapest option and it needs hand washing, but the pan feels designed for households that want one good-looking piece to cover several jobs. Choose it if you want an easy-release non-stick pan that can also simmer, steam and serve without taking over a cupboard.

HexClad 25cm Hybrid Pan
hybrid non-stick pan with lid
The HexClad 25cm Hybrid Pan is the premium choice for buyers who find conventional non-stick too delicate. Its hybrid cooking surface is designed to give you easier release than stainless steel while still handling higher-heat cooking, metal utensils and dishwasher cleaning.
It is expensive and not as slippery as the smoothest ceramic or PTFE pans for delicate eggs, but it gives you a wider cooking range than most non-stick options. It makes most sense if you want one pan for omelettes, vegetables, stir-fries and steak rather than keeping separate pans for gentle and high-heat jobs.

GreenPan Padova Pro 2 Piece Frying Pan Set
8in and 10in ceramic non-stick pans
The GreenPan Padova Smokey Sky Blue Two-Piece Frying Pan Set is a practical upgrade if one pan is never quite enough. The 20cm and 26cm sizes cover small breakfasts, quick lunches and larger evening meals, while the ceramic non-stick coating gives the set a PFAS-free appeal.
The pans are visually distinctive, induction compatible and dishwasher-safe, though hand washing is still the kinder route for long-term coating life. They are only oven-safe to 200C, so they are not the most flexible oven-to-hob option, but as a stylish everyday pair they cover a lot of ground.

Ninja Extended Life 20cm Ceramic Frying Pan
PFAS-free ceramic non-stick pan
The Ninja Extended Life 20cm Ceramic Non-Stick Frying Pan is the compact pan to keep within easy reach. Its smaller size is ideal for one or two eggs, a fast omelette, toasted spices or reheating leftovers, and the ceramic surface gives it an impressively smooth feel for low-oil cooking.
It is not the pan for large family portions, and ceramic surfaces should be treated with care to avoid chips and scratches. For buyers who already own a larger frying pan, though, this is the neat everyday addition that handles the small jobs better.

Circulon ScratchDefense 25cm Stainless Steel Frying Pan
extreme non-stick induction pan
The Circulon ScratchDefense Multi-Layer Stainless Steel Extreme Non-Stick Induction Frying Pan is built for buyers who worry about coating wear. Its raised circular cooking surface is designed to protect the non-stick layer, making it a stronger choice if you want a pan that can cope with regular use and metal utensils.
The trade-off is that the textured surface is less purely smooth than a conventional non-stick pan, so delicate food may need a little more help. It is a smart choice for searing bacon, meat and vegetables, and for cooks who value long-term surface protection over the absolute easiest egg release.

Kuhn Rikon Culinary Five-Ply Non-Stick Frying Pan
five-ply induction pan
The Kuhn Rikon Culinary Five-Ply Non-Stick Frying Pan is a serious-feeling alternative to lightweight aluminium pans. Its five-ply stainless-steel and aluminium construction is designed to spread heat evenly across the base and sides, which helps with pancakes, bacon and foods that punish hot spots.
It is heavier than many everyday pans and the straight stainless-steel handle will not suit every hand. The upside is a sturdy, dishwasher-safe non-stick pan with a lifetime-guarantee feel and a pared-back finish that suits buyers who prefer function over colourful cookware.

Tefal Jamie Oliver Cook's Direct 28cm Frying Pan

The Tefal Jamie Oliver Cooks Direct 28cm Frying Pan is a sensible induction-friendly choice if you want an easy, familiar non-stick pan with a stainless-steel body. The 28cm size is useful for family portions, and Tefal’s heat indicator helps take some of the guesswork out of preheating.
It is not the cheapest Tefal pan, and buyers who prefer very deep sides may want to check the shape carefully. For most induction kitchens, though, it offers a strong mix of everyday release, even heating and easy cleaning from a brand many buyers already trust.

Smeg 50's Style 28cm Non-Stick Frying Pan
matte cream induction pan
The Smeg 50s Style Frying Pan PF2002BLM50 is the design choice here, but it is not just a pretty pan. It heats quickly, works on induction, and its PTFE surface is well suited to eggs, pancakes, peppers and other foods that need reliable release.
The price is high for a single frying pan, and the retro look will not suit every kitchen. If you want a non-stick pan that can sit proudly on a rail or open shelf rather than being hidden away, this is the pick with the most visual polish.

Scoville Neverstick 28cm Frying Pan
PFOA-free induction pan
The Scoville Neverstick 28cm Non-Stick Frying Pan is the value pick for buyers who want a decent pan for very little money. The 28cm size is more useful than many compact budget pans, and the lightweight body makes tossing vegetables, pancakes and quick stir-fries easier.
It needs more scrubbing after some browning jobs than the slickest premium pans, and it will not feel as refined as the more expensive options here. At this price, though, it is a straightforward buy for students, first flats and households that need an extra pan.

It is not oven-proof, so skip it if you regularly finish frittatas or meat under heat. For basic hob cooking, though, it is light, simple and easy to clean, which is exactly what a low-cost non-stick pan should be.

Kyocera Ceramic-Coated 26cm Frying Pan

The Kyocera Ceramic-Coated Non-Stick Frying Pan is a good fit if heavy cookware puts you off cooking. Its 26cm body gives you enough space for everyday meals, but the pan stays lighter than many stainless-steel or hybrid alternatives.
The ceramic coating performed best when treated gently, so avoid metal utensils and very rough cleaning. If you want a PTFE-free pan for eggs, pancakes and low-oil cooking, and you care about weight as much as capacity, it is a strong specialist choice.

Stellar Rocktanium 30cm Frying Pan
QuanTanium non-stick induction pan
The Stellar Rocktanium Non-Stick Frying Pan is the large-pan option for households that routinely cook bigger portions. The 30cm size gives you more room for bacon, pancakes, risottos, stir-fries and family meals, while the reinforced non-stick coating is designed to cope with regular use.
It can feel a little unbalanced because of the pan diameter, so buyers with limited wrist strength may prefer a smaller option. For cooks who want capacity first, it offers a practical middle ground between a basic non-stick pan and a much heavier saute pan.

Questions
Non-stick frying pan questions
Straight answers to the questions that usually come up before buying.
Are ceramic non-stick pans better than PTFE?
Ceramic pans are a good choice if you want to avoid PTFE or prefer a PFAS-free coating, but they are not automatically longer-lasting. PTFE is often slicker for eggs, while ceramic needs gentle utensils and careful cleaning to stay at its best.
What size non-stick frying pan should I buy?
A 24cm or 26cm pan is the safest everyday size for most homes. Choose 20cm for single portions or breakfast jobs, and 28cm to 30cm if you often cook for several people.
Can non-stick frying pans go in the oven?
Some can, but the maximum temperature varies by coating, handle and lid. Check the stated oven-safe limit before using a pan for frittatas, finishing meat or grill-style cooking.
Can I use metal utensils on a non-stick frying pan?
Only use metal utensils if the manufacturer clearly says the surface is metal-utensil safe. For most smooth ceramic and PTFE pans, silicone, nylon or wood will help the coating last longer.
Why does food still stick to a non-stick pan?
Food can stick if the pan is too hot, the coating is worn, or proteins are moved before they have released. Even a good non-stick pan often performs better with a small amount of oil and medium heat.
How long should a non-stick frying pan last?
It depends on the coating, heat, utensils and cleaning. A budget pan may be a shorter-term buy, while a carefully used premium PTFE, ceramic or hybrid pan should last longer before release starts to fade.
When should I replace a non-stick frying pan?
Replace it when the coating is peeling, flaking, badly scratched or no longer releases food despite correct use. A warped base, loose handle or other physical damage is also a reason to stop using the pan.
