Editorial Policy
Product Inspector publishes buying guides to help UK shoppers compare products clearly, understand trade-offs, and choose with more confidence.
Last updated: 2 June 2026
Our editorial purpose
We focus on product categories where shoppers often need to weigh features, size, price, retailer availability, owner feedback and practical compromises. A useful guide should make those choices easier to compare, not simply list popular products.
Independence
Product Inspector is independent of retailers and manufacturers. Brands cannot pay to be recommended, approve our wording, or decide where a product appears in a guide.
How recommendations are written
Recommendations are written around buyer needs. We look for products that make sense for a clear use case, such as overall value, compact size, family capacity, premium features, simpler operation, or a particular type of buyer.
We aim to explain both strengths and trade-offs. If a product is a strong choice for one reader but not another, the guide should make that distinction plain.
Accuracy and limits
Product details, prices, availability and retailer terms can change. We use careful editorial review, but readers should always check the retailer's page before ordering, especially for dimensions, compatibility, delivery terms and warranty cover.
We do not claim hands-on testing unless a guide says so clearly. Where a guide is based on editorial review, we keep the copy focused on information we can support from product details, retailer availability, owner feedback and wider category context.
Commercial relationships
Some retailer links may earn Product Inspector a commission. Affiliate commission helps fund the site, but it does not decide our rankings or recommendation wording.
