How We Choose Products
Our guides are built around the questions shoppers ask before buying: what suits the job, what is worth paying for, and what compromises matter.

What we consider
Product Inspector prioritises UK availability and considers specifications, price, retailer availability, warranty, brand reputation, customer sentiment, public review patterns, value for money, suitability for different buyers, and editorial judgement.
Why a product may be selected
A product does not need to be the most expensive or most popular option to earn a place. It may stand out because it is easier to live with, better value, more compact, more capable, simpler to buy, or unusually well suited to a specific household.
How rankings are shaped
Rankings balance the product's fit for the guide, the clarity of its strengths, the seriousness of its trade-offs, and how useful it is to compare against the rest of the shortlist. Affiliate commission does not determine where a product appears.
What readers should still check
Before buying, check the retailer's current price, delivery options, returns policy, warranty terms, colour or size variant, dimensions, accessories and compatibility. These details can change after a guide is published.
When guides change
We may update a guide when product availability changes, better options become clear, a product is replaced, or a reader flags something that needs review. See Corrections and Updates for how to contact us.
