Circulon
Circulon ScratchDefense 25cm Stainless Steel Frying Pan
Scratch-resistant coating with raised cooking rings
Editorial review Reviewed 23 October 2026 How we assess products
Circulon ScratchDefense Clad 30079 is a 25cm stainless-steel-clad frying pan with an aluminium core and reinforced non-stick. Its metal-utensil tolerance suits cooks who prioritise scratch resistance. The substantial body takes patience to warm, while raised rings brown bacon and meat effectively. Egg edges may need loosening, and pancakes can pick up a ring pattern; some oil helps. All hobs, including induction, are supported, with oven use to 260°C. Hand wash after cooling with non-abrasive tools. Abrasion tests and a lifetime manufacturing guarantee do not establish a lifetime of non-stick performance. Kuhn Rikon Culinary Fiveply has a smoother interior; Salter Marblestone is lighter and simpler for small breakfasts. Choose Circulon when its resilient construction matters more than weight or an unmarked pancake finish.
