Philips PerfectCare Elite Plus GC9682/86
Steam generator iron · 800g handpiece
Editorial review Reviewed 6 November 2026 How we assess products
The PerfectCare Elite Plus GC9682/86 is easiest to justify for long sessions. Its handpiece weighs 800 g, the detachable tank holds 1.8 L, and the manufacturer specifies up to 165 g/min of continuous steam. The tank can be topped up during use, and you can move between ironable fabrics without changing the temperature. You get a lighter tool in your hand while the water and the bulk stay on the base. The complete dry system weighs about 5.1 kg and measures 45.3 × 23.3 cm across its footprint, so check where it will stand before buying. Its cost and size are much harder to justify if you usually press a few things and put the iron away.

Brabantia Ironing Board B
Use this height-adjustable board for corded and cordless irons as well as steam generators. Keep your current board if it’s stable and has room to set your iron, dock or base down safely.
The separate metal tray takes generator bases up to 40 × 22 cm. The Philips PerfectCare 6000 fits those dimensions. Check the board’s load limit against the filled unit’s weight and make sure all feet sit flat inside the tray. The larger Philips PerfectCare Elite Plus needs a separate, stable, heat-resistant surface for its base.
