Panasonic SD-YR2540: features and buying advice
32 programmes, fruit and nut dispenser, Stainless Steel
Editorial review Reviewed 27 October 2026 How we assess products
The Panasonic SD-YR2540 combines 32 programmes with separate yeast and fruit/nut dispensers. Spelt, rye, brioche, manual stages and four gluten-free modes suit regular bakers who want more than a basic white loaf. Medium, large and extra-large sizes depend on the programme. It makes white and wholemeal bread with a good rise and texture; gluten-free results ranged from springy to more cake-like. Mixing is quiet, but the yeast dispenser knocks audibly. The broad body, lid clearance, unfamiliar buttons and lack of a viewing window are practical trade-offs. Standard baking still takes hours. Choose it when the automatic additions and specialist menus will earn their keep. The Panasonic SD-B2510 is simpler, while the Panasonic SD-YR2550 is a useful alternative if you do not need the dedicated spelt programme.
