Lakeland White Compact 1lb Daily Loaf 16147: features and buying advice
Small 500g loaves, 11 programmes and a viewing window
Editorial review Reviewed 27 October 2026 How we assess products
Lakeland’s Compact 16147 makes one 500g loaf, with 11 programmes, crust choices and a viewing window. It is a practical budget option for one or two people who want to finish bread while it is fresh. It makes soft, airy and evenly browned ordinary loaves. A gluten-free recipe can overflow and sink, so use quantities specifically suited to this small pan rather than a larger machine’s recipe. Dough-only, ultra-fast, delay and keep-warm functions add flexibility, but there is no automatic ingredient dispenser. Ordinary kneading is quiet and controls are straightforward, but loud mix-in prompts can interrupt the kitchen and the pan handle feels light. Cleaning and storage are generally straightforward; burnt-on overflow is the exception. The Panasonic SD-PN100 offers more programmes, while a full-size machine makes more sense for larger households.
