Panasonic’s sound-reducing cover gives this heated blender a useful reason to stand apart from the others. It makes the loudest blending stage less intrusive, which can help in an open-plan room or when conversation matters. It is quieter rather than silent, and you still hear the motor and cooking activity. The hot limit is 1L, with 1.2L available for cold recipes. Eleven automatic programmes and manual speed control give it more range than a small dedicated soup jug, while keep-warm adds flexibility over serving time. It is a substantial 5kg appliance, so the small hot batch should not be confused with a small body. Soup results are less consistently convincing than on our leading choices: smooth texture can be good, but harder vegetables and serving temperature deserve attention. Chop ingredients to the manual’s guidance and use the appropriate programme.
