Black Friday & Cyber Monday 2026

Black Friday falls on 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November 2026. From a long-awaited upgrade to a thoughtful gift, here’s how to make the sales worth shopping.

A low price is more appealing when the product fits your life. Useful features, the right size and a fair total cost matter more than an impressive percentage off.

What’s worth buying?

A good offer starts with a product that earns its place in your home. Find the models we rate, why they stand out and where you can buy them.

Prices can change between checks and checkout. An RRP saving alone doesn’t tell you whether a deal is good value; membership, delivery and voucher conditions can make a difference too.

The deal you’ll still be pleased with in December

The most satisfying Black Friday purchase is rarely the one with the loudest sale badge. It is the upgrade you have been considering for a while, the gift you know someone will love, or a reliable replacement bought at a price you are happy with.

That makes a shortlist more useful than a countdown. Knowing what you want, which features matter and what you would normally expect to pay gives you something solid to judge a discount against. A cheaper product can be a better buy than a heavily reduced premium model if it already does everything you need.

A big percentage is only part of the story

A saving against RRP can look impressive without telling you much about recent selling prices. The price you would actually have paid last week is a more useful comparison, although even that does not establish a lowest-ever deal. The real question is whether the final price feels worthwhile for that particular product.

Model names deserve a close look too. Almost identical names can hide different capacities, accessories or regional versions. A larger discount on a less suitable model is not much of a saving; nor is a low headline price that loses its appeal once delivery or essential extras are added.

There is more to value than the amount on the button. The seller, expected delivery date, warranty and returns terms all matter, especially for gifts. Size matters too: a product that will not fit its intended space is an expensive mistake at any price.

Is it worth waiting until Black Friday?

Retailer sales often extend beyond the Friday itself, while individual offers can be much shorter. There is no guarantee that a product will be cheaper on the day, or that an appealing price will last until Cyber Monday.

If something on your shortlist is already a good fit at a price you like, buying earlier can be sensible. If you are still unsure about the product, a ticking clock is a poor reason to rush. Our buying guides explain the differences that make particular models worth considering, beyond their discounts.

Where Amazon Prime and other memberships fit in

Amazon Prime can be useful when eligible deliveries and its entertainment benefits suit the way you shop and spend your free time. It is not needed for every Amazon offer, though some prices are reserved for members. Our Amazon Prime guide looks at the benefits and costs; our Christmas delivery advice is useful if gifts are on your list.

Audible, Amazon Music Unlimited and Kindle Unlimited are separate subscriptions, each with its own appeal. An audiobook for the journey, music you can choose on demand or a new pile of books to get through may be more valuable to you than another physical purchase. A trial is worthwhile when you want what the membership offers; its renewal price and cancellation terms matter as much as the introductory offer.

After the sales

A purchase made in December should meet the same standard as one made on Black Friday: the right product, a fair price and terms you are comfortable with. The sale badge may have gone, but the features, compromises and day-to-day usefulness are what you will live with.

Prices and delivery dates can change, so the retailer’s final terms are worth a last look before you order.
