Vax
Vax Platinum Power Max — features, strengths and limitations
ECB1SPV1
Editorial review Reviewed 28 October 2026 How we assess products
The Vax Platinum Power Max ECB1SPV1 puts thorough carpet cleaning ahead of automatic controls. Its brush bar and rotating brushes work well on dirty carpets and rugs, though stubborn areas need slow, repeated passes. The pre-treatment wand and SpinScrub hand tool are useful when marks need more direct attention, and hose tools cover stairs and upholstery. Automatic detergent mixing and substantial tanks suit a longer wash. It is a strong value choice if you can accommodate a 9.6kg machine and do not mind holding a wash trigger. The Vax Platinum SmartWash Pet-Design is more convenient to operate; a compact floor-only washer is easier to store but gives up this tool kit.
