Salter Instant Hot Water Dispenser Salter EK6116
2.3L, replaceable filter cartridge
Editorial review Reviewed 20 October 2026 How we assess products
The Salter EK6116 offers simple cartridge-filtered hot water from a 2.3L, 2600W dispenser. One press gives 200ml; a double press starts continuous flow that you must stop yourself. There is one hot-water temperature rather than adjustable brewing presets. A 200ml automatic portion will not fill many mugs, so the adjustable filtered Breville VKJ367 is more convenient if cups vary. The construction feels lightweight, and boil-dry protection does not prevent scalds. Check that replacement Strix cartridges are specified for Salter EK6116, and budget for changes as well as descaling. The unfiltered Breville VKJ318 is an alternative if an adjustable pour matters more than filtration.
