Salter Boston EK6519MW suits smoothies, sauces and dips when you do not want whisking or chopping tools. Its detachable shaft and 700ml lidded beaker make a small kit. Smoothies can be lump-free and guacamole can retain texture, with little splashing and comparatively quiet operation. The top dial is awkward to adjust while blending, the beaker needs steadying and the top-heavy unit should not be left upright in it. Its 1500W rating is not a performance ranking. Choose Morphy Richards Total Control for extra tools on a budget, or Braun MultiQuick 5 Pro for more comfortable everyday control.
