Sage
Sage Smart Grinder Pro: An Everyday Espresso and Filter All-Rounder
450g conical burr grinder
Editorial review Reviewed 23 October 2026 How we assess products
The Sage Smart Grinder Pro makes espresso and filter brewing approachable with a readable screen, 60 settings and programmable timed doses. Supplied 50–54mm and 58mm portafilter cradles plus a lidded container suit different drinks. Timing is not weighing: check output on scales after changing beans or settings. The adjustable upper burr extends the fine range, but dense speciality light roasts can still cause clumping or trigger the protective motor clutch. Retained grounds complicate frequent bean changes, and coarse filter cups are less defined than with the Fellow Ode Gen 2. Allow space above the 38.9cm body to lift off the hopper. This is a convenient mixed-brewing choice, especially with medium and darker roasts.
