Krups Expert GVX231: Simple Electric Grinding for Everyday Filter Coffee
Automatic burr grinder
Editorial review Reviewed 23 October 2026 How we assess products
The Krups Expert GVX231 is a basic electric grinder for ordinary filter coffee. Its steel flat burrs have 17 settings, and the 2–12-cup selector stops the motor automatically. It avoids the effort of a hand mill, but produces less even grounds than stronger mid-range models. Cup quantities are an estimate rather than measured coffee weight, so use scales when refining a recipe. The upper burr and grounds bin come out for cleaning; scattered grounds can still make emptying messy. Unplug first, keep the electrical base dry and grind coffee beans rather than spices. The Cuisinart CBM22U adds useful flexibility; espresso buyers should prioritise the Baratza Encore ESP’s finer control.
