Dreo Smart Dehumidifier 512S: performance, features and buying advice
Black · DR-HDH002S · compressor
Editorial review Reviewed 31 October 2026 How we assess products
The Dreo Smart Dehumidifier 512S suits app schedules, remote humidity settings, filter reminders and Alexa/Google voice control. Its compressor removes moisture by condensing it on a cooled surface. A child lock helps prevent accidental setting changes. Responsive controls and convincing moisture reduction give those functions a practical role. A 3.4-litre tank and supplied gravity-drain hose support longer sessions. Noticeable operating noise and no dedicated night mode make it less suitable for a quiet bedroom; warm exhaust can heat a small room. There is no dedicated laundry programme: continuous mode can help washing dry, but check the load and end the session yourself. Its published 355W rating is a running-cost consideration alongside the MeacoDry Arete Two 20L, rather than proof of a fixed bill difference; conditions and runtime change consumption. The hose needs to fall towards a suitable outlet because the unit does not pump uphill.
