Daewoo SDA2693 Ice Maker
1.2-litre tank · Carry handle
Editorial review Reviewed 24 October 2026 How we assess products
The Daewoo SDA2693 makes sense when you want an ice maker that is reasonably easy to carry out and put away. Its handle, roughly 6kg empty weight, simple controls and two ice sizes suit occasional use. The 1.2L tank and water/full-basket indicators help with repeat batches. Small and large batches can take around seven and eight minutes once running; the first can be slower, and a basket needs roughly an hour. Noise is audible, though less noticeable in a busy kitchen. Move it empty and upright, and follow the manual’s settling time before switching on. This is an indoor mains appliance, so its handle is not permission for wet outdoor or off-grid use. The 30-minute cleaning cycle helps, but draining after use and leaving it dry before storage remain necessary and can be awkward away from a sink. A basket and scoop are included. The CASO IceChef Compact is our stronger everyday all-rounder.
