Cuisinart Solo Scoops ICEM10U
A small freezer-bowl churner for one or two
Editorial review Reviewed 9 October 2026 How we assess products
Solo Scoops is a low-cost first buy for one or two modest portions. A balanced vanilla recipe can become creamy in roughly 25 minutes, depending on the recipe and freezer conditions. The 475ml bowl takes a maximum 300ml of mixture and needs at least 24 hours in the freezer before use; another batch needs a fully frozen bowl again. Start the motor before pouring chilled base and leave 2cm headroom. Its ingredient opening is useful, but sticky spreads can cling to the paddle and chunky additions are awkward. The motor is audible and the light body can move during additions. Fresh output may need freezer firming in a separate airtight container, rather than storage in the freezer bowl. Hand-wash the bowl; the lid and paddle detach separately. Lakeland Digital offers a larger working batch.
