The gloss-black Breville VKJ142 is a basic 1.5L HotCup for a repeated 250ml mug. Its 3000W heater boils one fixed portion at one temperature, with no size dial or lower brewing presets. Measure your cup first: a small cup can overflow and a large mug will need more water. The water window and removable tray help with routine use, but several drinkers will empty the small tank quickly. Its permanent scale filter catches particles rather than treating incoming water like a BRITA cartridge, so regular descaling is still needed. The 2L Breville VKJ318 is the more flexible choice for changing mug sizes; the Breville VKJ367 adds cartridge filtration.
