Breville HotCup VKJ318
2L, gloss black, adjustable cup size
Editorial review Reviewed 20 October 2026 How we assess products
The gloss-black Breville VKJ318 is the 2L, 3000W HotCup with a nine-size dial and manual stop, but no BRITA cartridge. It boils water at one setting rather than offering lower brewing temperatures. Compared with the fixed-250ml Breville VKJ142, the dial is useful when mugs change size; the filtered Breville VKJ367 has a smaller 1.8L tank. Check the dial with your own mug and be ready to stop the first pour. The push-button lid, illuminated water window and removable tray help with filling and cleaning. Refill away from the powered base: unused boiled water returns to the reservoir and can leave it hot. Allow a short pause between cycles, descale regularly and flush according to the manual after a long period without use. Normal valve clunks or drips alone do not establish a fault.
