Amazon Basics Digital Kitchen Scale
EK3211, 5kg stainless-steel platform
Editorial review Reviewed 24 October 2026 How we assess products
Amazon Basics EK3211 covers normal recipe weighing at a low cost. Its tare button resets the reading to zero after adding a bowl. The 5kg capacity, stainless-steel surface and quick readings suit flour, vegetables and meal portions. The compact body is easy to store. It starts at 2g and reads in 1g steps, so it is unsuitable for yeast or spice quantities below 1g. The unlit screen also needs decent kitchen lighting and a bowl that does not obscure it. Wipe beneath the edge of the metal disc, where flour and grease can collect. The two-minute automatic shutoff saves batteries but can interrupt a paused recipe. Choose OXO Good Grips for a pull-out display or Heston Blumenthal by Salter for separate heavy and fine weighing; pay for those upgrades only if they solve a problem you actually have.
